We run a cow-calf operation.  Most of our cows have been raised here and a few we have bought to bring in new blood.  We mainly use Hereford cows and a Limousine bull.  Every few years we have to sell the current bull and find a new one to keep the breeding operation going. We raise our cattle with no hormones.  They are fed grass from May-October and then hay and corn silage from November-May.  In the winter months, we keep them in the nice warm barn and on the nice days, they get to go outside and enjoy the sun!  We try to have our calving season starting March 1st.  The calves then stay with their mom for 4-5 months before they are weaned.  We then choose the ones for finishing.  We try to finish only steers and keep or sell the heifers for breeding.

    Sparky is an 18- month old Speckle Park/ Black Angus bull.  Speckle Parks and Angus are known for high marbling and flavour.

    Hereford

     

    Stuart is a 2-year-old Hereford bull. Hereford cattle are known for their docile temperament and well marbled meat. 

  • Buick

    Simmental 

     

    Buick is a 1-year-old Simmental bull.  He is not ready for breeding yet but has great genetics. Simmentals are known for growing quickly and well marbled meat.
